OK, I admit I am terrified someone will pick this up and put it on the "stupid things people do to parrots" thread, but I can guarantee you, this was never my idea and he does it over and over again! For some reason, he seems to find it fascinating to view the world in this somewhat unusual way. The first time he did it, all I knew was that he fluttered to the floor with his head stuck in a tube, and I rescued him and anxiously checked him out for damage and put the tube out of reach, sure that he'd be terrified of it for life. He climbed up, rolled it down off the shelf, and did the whole thing again! He continues to explore the world this way almost every time he is out of his cage and has access to a toilet tube or this heavier gauge section of cardboard tube. If you understand it, drop me a line....
