Rory was sitting atop his cage, as he always is while I wash up. He still hasn't grown his feathers back after the breeder clipped him, so his 'flights' are usually more like 'falling with style' than anything else, usually no more than a couple of metres.
Today though, I'm washing up, I hear a noise, glimpse a feather, and then suddenly - there he is, in the sink. I scooped him up pretty quickly, and immediately turned on the cold water to wash him off. He's lucky I don't like the water hot, and it was only warm in the sink. Much to his dismay, I pretty much soaked him to the bone to ensure that there's no sign of washing up liquid on him, and luckily, I'd just started, so the water was clean.
I hope he was trying to fly to me and missed his landing, but the bird is so obsessed with water, I think that he probably saw the suds and wanted a bubble bath.
He's sitting on my shoulder, soaking and sulking now. Silly conure.
