Can your parrot swim?

Postby captwest » Sat Jan 22, 2011 5:28 pm

Funny Micheal started that thread, just got home from rolling my truck over into a ditch, in the middle of a snow storm. I had three dogs and my amazon Jake with me. Water was about 2 ft. deep but lucky the window rolled down and i could get the dogs and Jake out OK.Were all were soaked except Jake and had to stand in the snow and cold for about 1/2 hour before someone came along to give us a ride to the house, I put Jake down my shirt to keep her warm and she seems to be fine, if fact we're all fine, just alittle cold. If adventure builds character then Jake's getting to be a real Character, It's a shame she can't talk well enough to tell her life"s story. :o

Glad you and the animals are ok Captwest, sounds like an eventful day.
Jake sounds like shes on one big adventure with you :) was she in a cage or free?
Very lucky at least that it was only 1/2 hour wait. Have a good warm up tonight and take care.

Thank You, everyone, and thank the good lord who looks out for fools and the others. And yes , Jake was free in the truck like she allways will be.She would be very unhappy in a cage and yes me being the human i should be responsible one,but right or wrong i guess that's the way it is and we will have to live our lives like we do. PS I got home maybe 3 hrs after all this happened and Jake was preening me and playing on her back and wanting sex, so i guess she's forgiven me ,hope ya'll can.

The most important thing is that you are all okay! Stay warm and dry, and after that adventure I'd be going for something stronger than a beer!
