New flock addition! and a concern..

Postby GlassOnion » Tue Jan 25, 2011 10:34 pm

I just got a little 8 week old blue parrotlet. :D I named him Ponyo.
Everything is fine except he keeps bobbing his head begging for food, and squaking constantly! He is weaned from what I'm told, and I've tried spoon feeding him, and he only accepts a little bit. But he still constantly begs and screams. Ponyo has no issues eating solids, but he still begs to be handfed.. What should I do? :?

If the little cutey's eating and drinking then the bobbing behavior's not about asking for food. He's just a bit insecure and wants some comforting. Hold him in your hand and pet him. You can also offer him food while you're holding him. He'll outgrow the behavior soon enough.
