This is about a finch not a parrot lol :)

A few years ago i had about 8 finches in my large cage that's in the living room I bought 2 more zebra finches and one couldn't fly (none of their wings are clipped) so i called him hopper. I had to get a bunch of perches for him so he could hop all the way up top to get in the nests and food (we put food and water at the bottom also just in case he couldn't get up) he was the happiest little bird in there! he had so much energy and would always hop around and sing! We don't know why he couldn't fly. A year or so later he died :( he was my favorite out of all of our finches. He was so cute!

Anyone have any similar stories? or just random stories about their beloved birds? i'd like to read some :)

I love finches, they're so entertaining to watch! I remember a friend of my mom's who breeds canaries telling me how some of the canaries born one year had little stub legs with no feet but they had the best singing voice of any birds she'd ever had. I don't know why they were born with that defect but she made a handicap accesible cage and they quickly became her favorite birds.
It sounds like hopper had a very good life

I don't think she let them breed since she didn't want to pass along the defect even though they were amazing singers. for the most part she said she just made soft cloth "cups" for them to perch on since a normal perch would be impossible for them and I believe they could still fly from place to place
