Sibling Rivalry

Postby Scarpath » Tue Feb 22, 2011 9:21 pm

I have 2 conures :gcc: :gcc: they are brother and sister and they tend to fight a lot. They go to the bottom of their shared cage and will wrestle which is funny until it gets out of hand. I don't really know if they are fighting or possibly mating? I don't know. But they are brother and sister so I do not think they would mate. Are there any ideas of how to stop this? I can't buy them their own cages because they go to sleep together and if 1 is missing the other won't sleep for the night. They love each other but fight. Anybody? Ideas? :gcc: :budgie:

The only way to prevent them from ever fighting is to put them in separate cages. And you are mistaken if you think they will not mate because they are brother and sister. That will not stop them from mating if they decide to mate. It would be safer for both of them if they were separated. They can still spend time together out of the cage and you could still place the cages side by side.

Good Luck, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the help and the welcoming. I'll try what you said and see if it works. Thanks! :gcc:
