Josie brought home 2 rescue amazons yesterday,Binky is a 12 yr old male Yellow Nape amd Mickey is a 24+ yr old Red Lored. Our vet sent the lady to us because she couldn't care for them anymore, she asked us not to sell or barter them so i guess we have some new pets. They both came with huge SS cages and a large (very large) box of toys.Binky is a very out going bird and Mickey is a little shy of men,(a nother project for me) Both are very vocal and talk/sing alot, i guess they fit in with the rest of the circus.

O Dear Lord you must really love the feathers :D

Binky and Mickey was lucky to find you and not go to all the adoption/re homing process.
Good luck with both of them- they look absolutely adorable.
For a first look I got impression, that previous care taker wasn't bad.

Margaret she refused several offers of money because they didn't "feel right" she cared greatly and her health and location didn't allow for birds, Very different from many that have joined this flock. :amazon:

Very cute little feathered guys. Congratulations!

I wish someone would just give me birds. :D

At moments like that I start to believe in human beings again! Those parrots are extremely lucky to have such a good and really loving them care taker and now you-guys. They were/are in the good hands!
Once again: Good Luck

A fast update on the new arrivals..."what's new pussycat" song while I am in the bathroom too funny. the Red Lored I can't quite peg yet but is craving attention and wants to be preened won't be long before this one joins the just cruisin' group that stay on their cages or perch playground instead of in the cage. This is Mickey.
Binkie is more than a bit nippy so going to take the slow road and pray a LOT.

To Idlepirate: Wow it takes all day I hand out the treats slowly throughout the day so I don't have to worry over who ate the balanced diet and who just ate candy. I do the cleaning and fussing as well as the medicating, Richard is normally the "Candy Man" when he is here and that allows me a bit of time :) I have a wonderful vet that trusts my judgement about antibiotics so the visits are minimized. All of this is out of love not any other reason. Very few come to me unbroken and my heart can't resist them at all. <3 :amazon:

I started a new thread under housing about the SS cages. Mickey and Binkie are doing great and have really come out of their shells.
