I have had to ask Captwest NOT to leave a message when he calls home. When I return Jake is in a state, hearing his voice and not being able to find her mate. There is no consoling her and she is agitated well into the evening. If you are in the same boat as it were then this may help. She has been much calmer since then and this is truly a blessing as her agitated call is truly ear piercing.

Are you gone again?

Seriously - Why don't you take Jake w/ you?

I used too, she and a couple of other zons have been all over the USA, Josie passed an OWA hen thru the drawer at the drive thru bank teller, in Marlin Tx. The birds name was Marlin. But alas Josie would rather say home and take care of a bunch of birds , insteed of takin care of me. ( I must be a lot of trouble) I'd bring Jake but i usually work 7/12s.

It's been suggested Scooter might get less agitated if I left voice recording for him when I go away, but this suggests that may just make things worse. Is it a plus or a minus for most birds?

It helped with mine when I went away, but they've only heard my voice in interactions and generally don't like being handled. They may be a special case.

I'm sure it's probably different for every bird. You may want to try it when you're in the house by physically not near him and see how he reacts.
