Lucy - Luc (said like Lucy but without the 'y'), Buby (combo of baby and buddy I think), Sweetie
Kylie - Ky, Tweetie

I have two cockatiels, Japrimel is Japh (pronounced Jaf), Jaffa Cakes and Japh-Japh ... along with the occasional swear word when he's taken to nibbling the wall.

As for Alex ... Lex Luthor, Pigeon and ummm ... Hitler ... because girly has at-ti-tude.
