Do you have his wings clipped? I don't want to be condescending here, but even a clipped bird can catch a breeze and fly away. You should get a harness for him so he can't escape. There's been too many sad stories of people losing beloved birds because they thought their bird, clipped or otherwise, would never fly away from them.

Other than that, he's gorgeous. I never realized how big Amazons are.

Yes he is clipped, would rather he wasnt but have battled for 4 months with a hareness and hes just not going to have it. But he is 13 and very sensible, if he goes any where its to get closer to us and on a windy day he wouldnt be outside. Most of the time he follows the dogs up and down the garden playing football with them.

Captwest i can tell you people are starting to talk about me, 'Theres that nutter with the parrot' is quite common, haha. But yes its great having Bill out and about, i had to really talk myself into clipping his wings but it was definately for the best. He can now come anywhere with me and pretty much does. I think the advice i took from you from the start has been the best advice, he has gone from disliking me to not letting me go anywhere without him. I dont think he has bitten or even thought about biting me for a good 4 months , not to say he hasnt nipped a few others though.
Didnt think he would become as friendly as he has and is just getting better and better. Makes me want to get another but cant see the wife going for that yet!

tim west, reading your previous concerns about clipping/not clipping wings, it seems that Bill is better this way. You'll never know with the birds.
I'm glad that he became so friendly to you and that you can take him with you everywhere.

About those people, who talk about you- I'm jelous
