Postby captwest » Tue May 10, 2011 12:01 pm

Some of you had asked me to post some baby pics, We were looking to produce some of what we call silver colored birds and this is what we got. These babies are about 3wks old. Enjoy
The white face male is a 4th generation bird of ours.

These are the 3wk old babies. One of them appears to be the Silver bird that we were looking for and the other two appear to be "Inos",Pink feet and eyes with just a couple of yellow tail feathers. Pretty neat, cool colors.

OMG. I love albino birds. And I want a cockatiel.

Very pretty!

:o Don't tempt me! When my boyfriend and I are making our way to California, I'll divert him to North Carolina or Florida! I'd love to see how you fit so many birds into one house.

I think my next bird will be from a breeder. I want to be selfish with a bird once and get a baby so I can imprint it just the way I want. I think having a bird from a baby would make it much easier to do things like harness train.

I just did some googling of albino Cockatiels, and apparently there's no true albino. The albino appearance is actually a Lutino and Whiteface cross. Is this true, do you know? Or is that bad information?

Well Kay, there's a lot of different opinions, ths ACS (American Cockatiel Society) show a picture of an all white bird and has it labeled an Albino.I used the albino name before and some except it and some argue no. Most of the time i call them Inos but an ino can have some yellow or yellow spotted feathers. I have birds that are completely white and many with varying amounts of yellow, one is all white with tiny yellow flakes all over her. They all have the pink eyes and feet.I'm not breeding show birds so i don't stress over it .

A few months ago I lost my lutino girl, she was hands down the absolute sweetest bird I have ever met/had. Every time I see a lutino 'tiel I get all gooey inside.
