Disney Update

Postby Munchy » Fri Aug 26, 2011 6:42 pm

Hello,

It has been almost a year since Disney arrived into our home. We got him in the beginning of October last year. He is the light of our lives. Every morning he greets us with a cheery and loud :Good Morning"
He often asks us "what are you doing?" He calls me a "pretty pretty bird" and he uses the phrase "trick or treat as a go to phrase for my husband, as well as a calling for the both us of in general. Once while at the computer with me, he said "such a sweetie". He mimics a lot of what we say as a one time deal and in general is a real joy to have around. He screetches and yells at his toys a lot! He cuddles up against my neck and is always trying to kiss us.
Here are a few recent pictures of him.Image

Disney is beautiful!! :D

I'm curious, is he as loud as the other Aratingas? I do remember hearing that Half-moons and Peach-fronts are quieter than Suns/Jendays. Does he scream frequently throughout the day? :)

Yes he is loud. Especially when he is playing with his toys! and sometimes for no reason at all. He really likes talking into his bell, using it as kind of a mega phone. Or talking into the corner of his food dish to hear the sound echo off of it. Sometimes we think we have the Jonathon Livingston Seagull of sound, lol. He is constantly testing his voice and making new sounds... ex. trick or treat can become trikcor trickor trickor trickor treeeat. To the point of it sounding like some strange bird call. I love it when he does that. The Half Moon I had growing up was a pretty quiet bird. Very rarely sounding off, only as a greeting or warning of some kind.
Although Disney can be quiet for an entire day if he feels like it. It's just his moods,

Thank you for the kind comment about his pictures. I think the Half Moons are gorgeous birds. I love their greens and blues and tiny bit of orange.
