Fly to the owner

Postby WVUSAE » Fri Oct 21, 2011 4:12 pm

How rare is it for parrots to fly to you? Is that a common phenomenon? Since I've had Mr. Crackers :greycockatiel: he's always flown right to me.

Mine fly to me. I'd say it's pretty common in most cases when a parrot

A) Isn't clipped
B) Likes its owner
C) Couldn't hurt if it is trained too

Hi, I've had my lovebird Tweety for 3 weeks, it is clipped and flys to me. It lands on my head or hand frequently and I haven't had to brieb it with food to be my buddy. Tonight it crawled up the leg of my pj's and fell asleep. Lol. A bit too friendly but funny as.

Rambo can't fly so he climbs pants legs.
Myrtle flies to me with my first coffee of the morning. We have play time while I wake up. She travels with me in my morning routine then does whatever Myrtle wants to do after than. Many times a day she will fly to me and hang on for a while. If I am too busy to play she just travels along.
When it is bedtime instead of going to bed like Rambo she will come to me so I can tuck her in for the night.

Tamago flies to me. Sometimes I think he's too attached because he flies will usually allow himself to be set down but then will fly to me again as soon as he notices I'm trying to walk away.
I've started to let him comes around the house with me as I do my routinely things, since he seems content just to see what's going on. Plus he's been pooping on me less and less so I don't mind having him on me as much!
The problem is getting him to stay off of me and have his own play time!
