My first time cooking for my new addition!!

Postby paper_lantern » Wed Oct 26, 2011 11:19 am

I'm picking my baby up from the airport tonight!! I'm so nervous and excited, I decided to pass the time cooking some food ahead of time, so that tomorrow morning he will have a meal already ready. Here is the picture! I looked everything up and I'm pretty sure everything in here is safe for a parrot, let me know if theres anything I shouldn't have put! :)

Image

Its red quinoa, white quinoa, organic spinach pasta, cut up corn, green beans, peas, and carrots. I also added a small sprinkling of 100% thyme and cayenne pepper.

I know it looks like a BIG batch, but I separated it into little containers and put some in the freezer for later.

Your bird is sure to love it! Quinoa is usually loved by most birds and so is pasta. It sometimes takes some time to get a bird to eat veggies, but hopefully your bird will eat them. Good luck!

It looks great.

Keep in mind what that baby is going through. He has been removed from everything he knows, put in a carrier on a scary plane with scary people.

You have added him to your world. Remember that your are now his whole world.

That looks great! My birds love quinoa and they also love those mixed veggies so I often cook up some quinoa (love red quinoa too!) and add the veggies to it towards the end.
