The story of Ladu (my cockatiel)

Postby laducockatiel » Mon Nov 07, 2011 3:15 pm

Hi guys, I just thought I'd share the story of how I got Ladu.

After calling the breeder up, I visited some of her baby cockatiels. She took one out of the cage and put it on my hand to see if i could handle it and i did, but it was showing a few minor signs of agression towards me, so she put it back in and at the same time, another one got out of the cage and flew right towards me and put its head down to get a head scratch. He seemed to really love me! After a few weeks (what felt like a few years) the breeder called me and said that the babies were fully weaned and there were two left, so I could come and pick it up, I was overjoyed! When I arrived at her house, she opened the cage which had two cockatiels in it and one of them saw me and flew out and asked for a head scratch lol, the other one couldnt care less about me. I think this was the same one that I saw the first time, and the breeder saw how much he loved me, so she kindly let me get that one. The next day, after picking him up, I had to change Ladus food and water, and as soon as I opened the cage door, he flew out, did a few laps of the room and landed on my shoulder! I was scared/happy/shocked! He seemed so eager to play with me, even on the first day!

Skip a few years, and he is the best playful, talking, whistling and don't forget loving pet I could ever have. Maybe it was fate?

Sounds like you found a great friend! And so lucky that he didn't get sold before you got back!

Cool. I wished that would happen to me. My bird Chloe stepped up on my finger from the first day.

Yes, I did. (for those of you who don't know what mitaaiee is, it is an Indian sweet and Ladu is a type of mitaaiee) I called him Ladu because Ladu is a sweet and he is very sweet
