They met today, though only through looking at one and other from different cages. From my observation everything went well, no screaming only curiosity and a little talking between them =).
Updates will be posted through the following days =).

Everything was going so well, they've been in the same room for a couple of days now and was really liking each other. Either they were talking, or eating together (in their separate cages) and being generally interested in each other. Therefore we decided to see if they would behave as good if out at the same time.

Stitch was a marvel, he did his best sound (singing opera as he always does when he is happy) and flew to Leroys perch to say hello. Tentatively he reached out to say hello, and thats when Leroy lunged for Stitch. After that they did a few beak against beak attacks and Stitch flew off. But he so wanted to say hello that he tried again, with the same response from Leroy. This time that pissed Stitch off and he lunged back and started chasing Leroy around the room. We stepped in and separated them and took them off to their respective cage.

Are we hoping for too much, or was this a standard response for meeting the first time? Is everything ruined or will persistant trying work? We REALLY want this to work out, the sole reason we got Leroy was to be a buddy for Stitch during the days (you know the details if you've read my threads), if this doesnt work, we cant keep them both. A parrot needs a buddy during the day, but a parrot that doesnt like the other parrot will be bad for both of them, they will get less time when we are home, and the risks are greater that accidents could happen. I would never put Stitch through that, he is my baby, and I have promised myself to put him first, no matter what.
That said, the best would of course be that everything works out.

Sorry for the rant, but I needed to write and write just to cool off, Ive just had so high expectations with this and I feel completely drained right now. I will OF COURSE do my utmost to make this work, I have invested a lot of time, energy, love and money in this, I want the best for both birds. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I havnt given up, this was just a first attemp, but I would love any advice that would help things.

Stitch wants a friend. Myrtle so wanted a friend that she ticked Rambo off her first week. He still will not say her name even though she learned and uses his when she calls. He pretends he does not want her around but when they are in seperate rooms he will call "come're" to her.

In the morning before they know I am up I can see them together. He will run her off when he sees me just to let me know. She wants to always be with him. They will eat out of the same big dish from opposite sides. Yesterday Rambo was taking a nap on the arm of the sofa and Myrtle sneeked up beside him and took a nap. She was only about 3 inches away and just loved it.

He won't admitt that he likes her. She loves him.

Thank you for the encouragement Liz. My wife is currently researching even more info on the meet and greet process, and hopefully we can make this work out =).

Just like children - when you bring the new baby home you give the older one more attention.
In the cse of critters - you give the first one more attention to reasure it and let the new one know who has siniority.

Yes we know Liz, and we are doing that of course :) , but giving Stitch more attention didnt prevent Leroy from attacking when Stitch wanted to say hello.

We'll keep working, I will keep you all posted! Suggestions are still very much appreciated =).
