Baby Update

I decided to make a completely new thread because the previous thread I had was me deciding on what parrot I wanted. Now that I've come to a desicion and purchased one, I figured i'd just keep all the updates here for now on. (For those who don't know, I purchased a Congo African Grey)

Another small update ...

MY BABY HAS HATCHED!!! I hadn't heard from the breeder in a little over 2 weeks and was worried something had happened to the baby so I decided to email her. It turns out she accidently emailed the hatch date info to a friend of hers with a very similar email address. lol Therefore, I don't know the exact hatch date. I assuming 1-2 weeks ago because she said it was almost time to pull them from Mommy Congo Grey. I'll find out the exact hatch date. She said she'd send me a pic ASAP. I can't wait to see my baby!! I feel like a proud parent!! I'll post pictures in the order I get them.

It turns out my baby hatched on New Years Eve, 12/31/2011! Next Saturday she will DNA sex my baby.

Tommy & Tammy have two babies that they just released to the care of the flock.

Lemone' just lost Twinkle, his mate, and has claimed both babies as his own. That has seemed to console him somewhat. The older baby we are pretty sure is a girl and has a home waiting for her. The other one is much younger and can't tell what it is. Whatever it is I intend to keep it to buddy with Lemone'.

With all the names in this house I am hard pressed to think of a new one. It would have to be a non gender specific name.

I don't think anyone has used the name Congo for an African Grey yet.

I love Einstein ahah! I've picked out a few names, tell me if it's a yeh, or ney!

Rosso (Was a last name I heard from someone)
Chasson (Also someone's last name)
Colletto (Another last name)
Connolly (Yet again, someone's last name, but I really like this one if it's a boy)

My husband and I like to name our pets from where their breed originates, so I would prefer an African name for our Congo African Grey. After doing a bit of research, there's a tribe called the Bakango who live in the Congo.

Mayidi (one of the Bakango's villages)
Mintadi (another favorite name, it's apparently the name of a statue the Bakango use to replace a cheif when he goes away to war)
