The place I volunteer at has a female eclectus that I've posted about before. She has really come out of her shell over the last month or so - went from a bird who would just sit in her cage biting anyone who got near it, to the gentlest creature who gets excited to see you, steps up perfectly and will cuddle endlessly.
Lately she has started doing this funny thing where, as soon as she sees me, she climbs off her perch onto the bottom of her cage, runs to the corner of it and sticks her beak and feet through the grate as if she is hiding. She will sit there for a minute or two, looking up a few times like she is expecting me to do something. Then she runs to the front of her cage to greet me and steps up to come out. It is pretty funny. Though I don't know what she wants me to do... I tried saying peekaboo and ducking my head down, but she'll just sit there until she is done. I should try to get a video of it next time.
Has anyone seen an eclectus or any other parrot do something like this?
