Do they? I had no idea.. I did try and research which genders go well together (especially when not initially raised together) and the internet is just such a big mess of information and misinformation that I never found a conclusive answer.

Yes, unfortunately for us, parrot keepers, the internet has all kinds of contradictory information when it comes to husbandry and, in truth, tiels are so mild-mannered and flock oriented that even birds of the same gender can have a wonderful relationship with each other but, when in doubt, always go to nature and nature made tiels highly social AND monogamous so that tells us without the shadow of a doubt that a male and female pair is the best possible situation for them.
