Awww! I love birdie bath time pics! :) Joe is a doll!! :D Is that Joe's cage she's perched on, in the 3rd pic in the previous post? If so, that cage is much too small! Senegals are high energy birds and need lots of room to explore. Even an 18x18 cage is too small for a Senegal. If you haven't picked out a new cage, check out this website for a cage for Joe. If you use the coupon code "first" you'll get 10% off your order!

This is the cage I bought for my Caique. She absolutely loves it! :) Originally priced at $304.99, I got it for $274.99 with the "first" coupon code.

Yes thats the cage I bought when we first got her. (The online price was cheaper then in store which irked me a bit lol) It was the largest cage petco had at the time lol and thanks for the link. I actually have been looking to get her a bigger cage. For the most part she spends alot of her time outside of her cage and although I don't have a perch yet I do plan to get one as well. I've been doing the wings and target training with her and she does such a good job lol. I plan to post videos later on, she also began saying Hello and Joe Joe along with cutie birdy lol.

You think thats funny, Joe now likes to copy the police siren sounds along with the beeping you hear from a smoke alarm that needs a new battery. My hubby asked her today if it was time to change her batteries and she just straightened up and said hi to him lol.

This morning I was focusing on attempting to teach him to step up. He has never done it before and usually bites if you try and touch his feet. Either that, or he just moves away from you.

I read around quite a bit on how to get a parrot to step up, but most of the books i have and tutorials and guides I have read assume that the bird is well mannered enough that you can offer your hand to him. Percy is not  Even the idea of using a hand held perch instead of the hand didn't work as he gets scared of the hand held perch.

I did a bit more research yesterday. And I found a youtube video where this guy was target training his parrot (a biter also) whilst putting his other hand close to the parrot's feet. If the parrot makes a move to bite, he moves away and the parrot does not get a treat. Basically, over many attempts, the parrot starts accepting the hand to be closer and closer. Eventually he shouldn't mind it at all and the next step is the step-up :D

This morning I got to a stage where Percy wasn't minding my hand close to him that much. So I am hoping that a couple of days of this will get him to step up. Wish me luck :D

Hmm did you read the topic michael has on this forum for step up training? Joe steps up sometimes and other times she flies to my shoulder instead lol so don't feel bad. She's getting a bit better at the wings but I doubt I'll train her to do much else until later on down the road. I do plan on getting her a perch and potty training her using michaels method. Of course I still need to get the clicker lol I've just been clicking my tounge to make as close a sound as possible to the clicker. I do wish you luck btw and hope the training works out. :D Joe may not do many tricks but she sure is vocal lol.
