Out of cage time together =)

Postby cml » Thu Mar 29, 2012 3:44 pm

Both of our little fellas have been out of the cage at the same time for a couple of days now, and they are so well behaved! No fighting, in fact they preen each other and follow each other around to be in the same room =)! I can also carry them both at the same time, one on each arm :).

I am a very proud parrot dad!

They are both adorable. I am so happy that they are buddys. I have never seen a speckled parrot like Leroy.

Thanks =).

Actually, he isnt as speckled as it looks on that photo. He is almost completely blue like the color on his head, save from his wings which are bronze colour.
The camera adds too much yellow to the pictures, and yellow+blue=green ^^, hence the look.
I'll try to use a different camera sometime, but this is my cellphone camera, its always close at hand when you want to snap a picture!

Take a look at my avatar picture, thats a better representation of Leroy's colours :) !

EDIT:
I quickly adjusted the colour levels a bit in photoshop, this is closer to the truth:

I had no idea a Pionus could be as big as an Amazon!

Its actaully white fronted amazons which are very small, they are the smallest species of amazon =)!

Stitch is only 25cm long, and weighs around 195grams.

They are pretty much the same size, Leroy is only about 30 grams heavier ^^.

So for scale of reference... they are both approximately Jardine sized?
