I would not suggest it for anyone else. My critters seem to know that if I bring something in the house and pet it it is mine and must be accepted as another member of the family.
Two morning I got up and found my cockatiels loose in the sunroom. Both of Rachel's black cats were in the sunroom. Scared me half to death but they just watched them. It took twice for me to realize that Myrtle was opening the cage. Since then I have been using a double latch. I am amazed that her cats did not kill them.
Fancy cat has never killed anything. Sqeakie puts dead moles on the front porch in the same place every morning. Rachel's cats kill anything they can get outside. When they first moved in. One evening we found tiel feathers all over the sunroom. We thought Tammy had been eaten. We don't even know how she got out. I found her the next morning with very few feathers hanging on the side of the chicken coop trying to get in. She has some nerve damage and twitches every once in the while but has grown all her feathers back. I don't trust Rachel's cats.
I don't really know why those critters raised by me are so accepting of each other. They are all really smart or I am giving off some signal to them.
