unfortunatly there aren't really any laws against abusing parrots yet.since i have been in contact with the rescue i adopted mya :corella: i've heard stories and seen pictures of horrible abuse that has even made me puke.the rescue calls animal control and they do nothing to stop it.you can only hope they will get bored or frustrated enough to give the poor bird up  unless maybe if your parents have a relationship to these people they could talk to the parents.they could tell them how risky it is to abuse the bird and their daughters could lose a finger or be scared for life if they don't handle this bird properly.there are nasty photos on the internet that could scare them.

Thanks pennyandrocky. That might work. I don't think it's that extreme yet, and I don't think they'd really go all out and hurt the bird intentionally - they aren't hateful. I'm more worried about fear / bad habits / feather plucking.
