The basket came from the South Australian Bird Company - they're genuine bird lovers who stock a fantastic array of bird enrichment items for birds of all sizes, at all kinds of prices and even parts for DIY toymakers. I've bought some fantastic budgie-sized toys there, including foot toys. I regularly pop by and show his progress to the lovely lady in the shop who started his hand training.

Definitely! We're working on behaviours like nod and shake, shake hands, and we'll be doing more prop work. When he eventually moults and regains the ability to fly we'll work on recall flying. He's only just started talking, so we're working on that too.

He will sometimes just do it for scratches, which is good for us both. He's definitely a "Mummy's Bird" now, and I think there's nothing sweeter than a warm little budgie sleeping on your hand.

), and we're still enjoying it! I've put together a little video with him doing his tricks, and he did fairly well considering that he wasn't really in a state of food deprivation at the time, so while he wanted the rewards he wasn't perhaps as motivated as he could have been
