scared M2 going to be comeing homd to me next month

Postby Sierra2012 » Mon Oct 15, 2012 1:00 am

I do animal rescueing. I will rescue just about any animal out there and leave my husband and the back room to rescue snakes. I know its not right of me to get an animal and watch it leave wiith a different owner all the time but thats what I do. I now have been asked by a good friend and of mine to take in another Cockatoo and even tho I have some concerns I should of never posted them....Yes I am concerned Sierra will feel abandoned or even worse unwanted and thats not the case. This cockatoo needs me he needs to get back to health and shown a lot of TLC...Just hearing Karens voice on the phone as she cryed telling me about this poor guy I know he lived an awful life and I couldnt imagine whats going on threw his head going thru all these test and treatments at the vets by strangers. Its got to be awful. So I am going to go down to the vet hospirtal and see him tomorrow and hopefully give him some comphert while Im there too check up on his condition....I know Sierra hasnt been here that long but this little guy needs my help and I cant say no its not in me. Im sorry for all or you who thought they where gunna be caged together thats defenetly a no no animal control went and got his cage from the house he was at and power washed it for me appearently it hadnt been clean in months. I know theres a lot of you out there that doesnt want me to do this rescue but Im hard headed and in love with all animals so I cant turn my back on this poor soul saving abused animals is what I do....Birds are new to me yes I normally rescue dogs Iguanas beardeed dragons ect, But I like Sierra ALOT AND Im never going to get rid of her and she has seen animals come and go off my property begore the only thing different is this one is a bird...I hope this all ends up alright ancd please happy thoughts my way no negitive ones This animal needs me and I cant let him down

Sierra should always be treated as number one. It is like when you have a 2 year old and bring home a new baby. The 2 year old learns that the baby needs you and will accept that as long as you save some special time for him while the baby is sleeping.

My kids were 18 months apart. There was never a problem between them.

When I brought Myrtle home she needed a lot of care. She was so afraid that all I could do is talk to her as I passed. When I was handing out goodies I gave Rambo his first and talked to him. I could not get near Myrtle so I just talked to her and put it down within her reach. Rambo knew he was still number one and Myrtle learned from Rambo that we were okay.

I believe God has placed this on your heart because He knew you were the right person to take care of this bird, giving it the TLC it needs to be well physically and behaviorally and emotionally. God’s battleground is the heart; the devil’s battleground is the mind (so do not be afraid). God will help you take care of that bird, and he will help you manage everything in balance; just ask him to do that. Isaiah 41:13 “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you.”. As well, your heart for the situation will help you and also give you strength. Go get that bird, and don’t let nobody drag you down about it. God removes things and people and animals from abusive situations, as they follow Him. That bird will definitely come around with patient time. Remember birds also sense emotions, and he will sense your loving spirit. (My bird jumped right on my arm first time he saw me at the parrot shop because he sensed my loving spirit.) Although my bird was also not abused, and I am his first owner since he was a baby. Abused, neglected birds have behavioral issues as a result of abuse and neglect, and it takes them a bit of time to come around, patiently, without forcing yourself on them. You sound like the best kind of person to do this for this bird. God bless you for being faithful for what God has placed in your heart. That bird needs stability, and love, and good care, desperately.

The M2 died in my arms last night e never felt so I have never felt so much pain in my life...I wish I COULD of brought him home but he was left at the vets for care where I visited him every day he seemed so sweet and loving I wish animal control could of gotten to him sooner
