I'm always Skyping with my daughters, who both live in the US, and Scout, my tiel, is usually somewhere on my person while that's going on. He's fascinated with my laptop and will climb down my arms and pad about on the keyboard.

Suk and I spent several months apart last year, and duly skyped (my family thinks I was skyping them  ) with lots of whistling back and forth. She definitely made the connection between me and the person on the screen, and reacts to other family members too, though it took her a few weeks to key in. It's just brilliant to see her interact with Skype calls now, so birdie calls sound like a wonderful idea!

Cassette loves my mother, and whenever we skype we always set aside some time for her to talk to him.

He gets so fluffed up, happy, and excited. He chirps and responds to her whistles and what she says! It's a very good thing to do.

Yes! My previous job required travel abroad so I introduced family & friends dba house/pet sitters to Skype, which allowed me to keep in touch web cam style! Like Cassette, my parrots would get excited and fluff up.
