Sometimes Kura thinks that he's a bull... :)

Postby Neith » Fri Jan 11, 2013 11:40 am

A while ago I've noticed that my :senegal: doesn't really like red nailpolish. He attacked some of my friends' fingers when they had their nails red but he was really friendly when they removed the nailpolish.
One time I was sitting on my bed when Kura decided to fly down from his cage (we bought him with clipped wings, but we want him to fly, so we won't be clipping them in future) and toddle in my way. He wasn't able to get on the bed yet (it was a few months ago), so he usually climbed up my laptop's power cord or I used to put my leg down, so he could climb up my pijama pants or any other trousers I had on :)
One time I did this with my toenails painted red. And he decided that this colour doesn't go well with the pijamas and decided to attack my foot :D

This is what I like to call pedikur (pedicure + Kura, his name :)):

That's adorable!

Although, he might be doing it because birds don't really like the color red all that much. I know that in the past I've had to avoid wearing that color because some of my birds get really aggressive around it.

It might be cute now but I would stop encouraging that behaviour straight away by moving your foot around like that. It could turn aggressive by which time you have taught him its a fun game. My boyfriend did similar with Ollie and it took me ages to break the habit of launching himself at my feet and trying to take chunks out of them.

Marie, it was just one time :)
Right now I don't even paint my toenails and my little monster isn't aggressive towards my feet :D

Fair enough. Just thought I would let you know the risk incase you didn't already know. Not saying you don't think things through but there are plenty who unwittingly teach animals to do stuff without realising they are doing so.

That's so clever, how you embedded that video clip like that so it's just playing rather than having to follow a link. How did you do that??
