Eddie talks!

Postby Eric&Rebecca » Thu Jan 24, 2013 4:42 pm

Our little baby tiel' started saying some new words today! We thought he was going to be a singer and hadn't really pushed him to talk but he's picked it up! This is a big week for Eddie as he has converted to pellets (finally!)

We've had "Helloooo" - it's so clear as well!
"Thank you"
"Good Booooooy!"
"Eric!" (my boyfriend- shows how often I yell it!)
"Birdy, Birdy Edmund"- a bit unclear but definitely distinguishable

He's also taken to barking like a dog... something I assume he picked up during a holiday at my parents. They have a mini schnauzer.

And most hilarious of all he has learnt to laugh... and knows when things are funny! He steals laptop keys and flies off with them then drops them somewhere. Then when my boyfriend goes "no naughty Edmund" he sits on top of the cage and goes "hehehehehehe"

I can't believe how lucky we are to have such a little character on our hands!

Yay!
The laughing is awesome, isn't it?
My conure sometimes whines, so you may want to ask your friends to be careful with the "awww"s haha!

That's fantastic! He sounds like a very talented little tiel. How old is he? My tiel (who's about 5 months old) goes on chirping/squeaking/trilling/occasional-tuneful-note benders but nothing resembling a tune or talking yet. He's not got the hang of the 'teacher toy' trick yet....so I might need to trade him in for a new one! :D

He's 8-9 months. We whistled and talked to him constantly! At around 6 months he started tunes and about 4 months he start whistling things that are just made up which he still does. I'm sure yours will start singing, try repeatedly tunes over and over and they eventually get the hang of them.

Yes, I'm sure he'll get there....at least on the tunes front, he's definitely trying already. Unfortunately for him I can't whistle so I have to sing tunes to him  . I'm concentrating on 2 or 3 songs I sing to him every day, and he gets very excited and sometimes starts whistling back at me.
