PUDDIN! i love it! he is so cute! I can't wait to hear more about him.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Thanks!
Heh, hes quite the character. Being 2 years old and seemingly taimed, hes not nearly the handfull I was expecting. He refuses to bite (hard enough to hurt at all; just sassy nibbles) and unless he doesnt see you coming up, he never hisses. Just gotta get used to announcing myself every time I go into the bed room.

Hes very curious about Melody (our mulga). She seems to be just fine with him being around, but is still shy considering his size Vs. her. I'll have her on one shoulder, and he will fly onto my other. Melody will hide behind my hair and keep watch while Puddin tries to slowly creep towards her.

We had a small game of peekaboo between the two of them using my hair last night while I was cleaning the Budgie's cage out.

Puddin doesnt really do any talking and rarely whistles except the one wolf whistle he did a few days ago when I walked in from work. Hes fully flighted, I was told that the previous owners might have botched a couple wing clips, but when I got him, he looked perfectly fine. Aparently they were feeding him that wild bird food that comes in a 20lb bag (sigh). Im told that Cockatiels are bad about switching food. Like with my other birds, id like for him to eat pellets, but first off im trying to get him off that wild feed. I dont think hes ever had Millet either because he was terrified by it up until he got frustrated with it and attacked. He bit into a little piece of heaven aparently and is now in love. I give it to him sparingly as i plan to use it for his training treat. Any advice on changing diets for Cockatiels would be really cool and I would appreciate it a lot!

He's super cute! I hope he & Melody become best friends :)
Re switching to pellets there's various ways. I personally gave my tiel 10% pellets (with his normal seed mix) the first week, 20% the second & 30% the third, by which time I was sure he was eating the pellets and discontinued the seeds, except a little every day.

A quick update. For what ever reason, Disney's 101 Dalmations was on the tv. (The movie, not the classic and much more appreciated cartoon).

During the scene when there is aparently a long distance message about kidnapped puppies being sent via barking dogs from one to another throughout the city, We discovered that Pudin's old home must have been near some dogs. There was a awkward moment when both of our heads (Melody and myself) cocked to the side to watch Puddin' Bark like a dog.

(Woof Woof!!)>
--------------------- :greycockatiel:-----------------------------------

Also, despite attempts made by Puddin' to be lovey dovey with Melody, She's not into it. She doesnt mind him being near, doesnt mind him playing with her toys, but when it comes to preening her, its still my job and no one else's....

On a possitive note, My budgies are absolutely in love with him. It's almost a pain to get them out of his cage as he will want to follow us to their's. They are always flying around the house together or getting into what ever birdy trouble they can find (which is always ample). I had not sealed the bag of millet good enough, nore did I put it back in the bird closet like I was supposed to. I walked to the bathroom for less than 60 seconds to return to see a millet party happening on my living room floor. Melody wasted no time and joined in once she saw the mess lol. Lesson Learned.
