birds abroad

Postby kimbo » Fri Jan 29, 2010 12:50 pm

we went to gran canaria and although i dont agree in keeping birds for the sake of tourists, i was eating dinner in a restaurant and they had 2 :macaw: and i could tell they were spoilt birds. really healthy and they let me hold one, it was lovely but huge. after sitting with me for a while it went onto a rattan chair and started to calmly dismantle it, till the owner saw it and put it back in its cage which by the way was huge as well. well looked after birds, and the experience is what made me want a parrot. if it had bit me though it could have been a totally different story. just thought id share this. :senegal:

i dont agree with keeping parrots or birds for tourists either, but it is always nice to see when they have nicely kept ones :)

I was on a cruise in 2008 i believe, and they had this Macaw,(at an island store i went to) i adored it but i felt so bad for it :(
Rusty cage, no toys, nothing !
I wouldve loved to take him home with me.

I will have to find photos of him, i have them somewhere.
