Hello I am new to the forum and very happy to meet fellow parrot lovers. I am lucky enough to own 3 fantastic birds who are all totally different but lots of fun. I have Nelson the Congo grey, he is very smart and loves to play copying games. He is not the cuddliest of boys but what he lacks in cuddles he makes up for in smartness. Then there is Janner our 7 year old Blue Front, we found him on Kijiji last year, he was living in a Basement in a filthy cage and looked so sad I simply couldn't leave him. Although he has lots of behavioural stuff going on and can be very cage aggressive, he is a very sweet boy who loves tickles and singing. He gets excited when I'm on the phone and starts a 3way conversation. Last week we rescued Ruby our scarlet macaw from a local bird sanctuary, she is our first macaw and thankfully is a fast learner....it's surprising what she can do for a few pine nuts.
Although I find life tough juggling them all at times, I love our birds and so do my children. My daughters Meredith and Beth have both become involved in raising funds for parrot related charities and are well known in our area for being outside with our flock.
I am very interested to hear from my fellow feathered friend lovers, thanks for reading and take care.
Donna
