New amazon owner

Hi, my name is Jenny and I have just acquired a yellow naped amazon. He is 2 years old and wasn't wanted. My partner and I have always wanted a parrot so we got stevie. We don't know too much about them which is probably not the best way to start but its better than leaving him where he was. He is in good condition though. He always liked me whenever I went there so hoping I will be the one he bonds with. Any advice would be great.

you have a good start. i always found it works better when they choose you. my first was a bluefront 
i inherited from my grandmother. has he settled in yet? don't rush anything he'll be with you a long time so no need to rush especially in an abuse situation. what's his diet? they need a variety of fruits and vegtables along with pellots. at least 10-12 hours of sleep.
