Please Help me with Layla!

Postby MyGreyLayla » Tue Jun 04, 2013 9:42 am

Hi,

My baby grey Layla :gray: is coming home in 4 weeks. She's still at her breeder's until she's fully weaned. I've been visiting her regularly since she was 5 weeks young. She's 8 weeks now.

I want her to have the best life possible with me. I want to know what are the first basic trainings I could possibly do to gain her confidence and trust. What would the first training be and how soon after she's home should I start training her? The day I bring her home, what are the things I should do to make her feel secure and comfortable?

Please help me, I would appreciate as much advices as possible.

Many Thanks!
MyGreyLayla

The bird is such a baby and you're off to such a great start that you don't need to do any training for now. Just focus on handling, feeding, exposure, socialization, etc. Just expose the bird to anything and everything you can. You can always perform training when it gets a bit older.
