Anyways, I'm Saphine or Martina but I prefer Saphine.
I joined this a bit after watching Michael's videos. I'm 14, and as I saw in a few posts, I'm pretty mature and I feel I am able to take care of Peanut. Peanut is my GCC and I love her to bits. Sh'e super sweet and loves to cuddle, and as we found out with my parrot-sitter (for vacations) she's a show-off! As long as you have a sunflower seed you are her best friend. She talks in that little GC voice saying 'pretty girl' and 'whatcha doin?' and 'pretty bird'. Her only trick is wave and she can step up.
I got her from a Petsmart- we came in, expecting to get a budgie but walked out with a $500 bird.
We had a Sun Conure to choose from too, who was very loving and could step up, but my mom, noting Peanut was cheaper, got her instead. She couldn't step up at first and sometimes refuses too still, but my first challenge was that. Then taught her wave. Now months have passed and she still doesn't know any new tricks. She's a tough bird to train, in m opinion anyways. I'm sure you cockatoo rescuers have it MUCH harder than me.
