My name is Emily. I am a 22 year old who just graduated from college. I live in Rhode Island, but I am currently working at an art school in Florence, Italy! When I return to the states in August I am adopting a beautiful parrot from Boston (so technically I do not have a bird right now but I am SO excited). Her name is "Michaela Chicken" but I plan to call her "Chicken McKenzie" or just "Chicken." She is a 10 year old double yellow-headed amazon parrot, female.
In the past I owned three cockatiels, and raised three babies, but had to make the EXTREMELY saddening decision to re-home them when I went to college (I still miss them like crazy, but they weren't getting enough attention and love without me around):
-Fella (Male, normal grey)
-Faith (Female, pied)
-Baby (Female, pearl)
I had Fella for about 8 years, Faith for 7, and Baby for 3. Fella and Faith became a breeding pair, though I originally believed Fella was a female. I had the amazing experience of hand-feeding three adorable baby cockatiels (one I kept, named Baby).
I cannot wait to come home and welcome "Chicken" the amazon parrot into my home and look forward to sharing my experiences with you all!
Thanks for reading!
