New beak on the block!

Postby CaseyPepper'sMom » Tue Jul 09, 2013 7:04 am

Hi everyone,
Just inherited Casey Pepper, a 38 year old OWA and am hoping to reacquaint myself with the joys of parrothood. My past companions included two budgies (AJ and Bobbie) and a mustache parrot (Rosebud), all three lost to sad circumstances I pray never, ever to repeat.

Casey is a character, we are trying hard to earn some mutual respect and boundaries - his human passed away 11 years ago (my fiance's Mom) and was cared for by my fiance's Dad until he passed in March. Sad to say, Casey didn't have alot of stimulation or attention for the past 11 years (despite my enthusiastic encouragement to the family) but now I am part of his flock in my house, along with his two new cat pals.

Hoping to meet some new online friends and learn from others, as well as hopefully offering up some bits from my household!

Glad to be a part of your group, thank you!

Sorry to hear about your last three birds...

How old does that make your amazon then?

My two Senegals are seven this year but it took just under a year of constant commited work to get them to be friendly around humans, have you managed to tame your amazon yet?

Hope you enjoy the parrot forum!
