:senegal: My name is Carolyn and I have two Senegal parrots. Squeak is male and 18yrs old. Lingling is female and 8 years old. Recently Squeak has started to pluck feathers excessively. I took him to the vet. They took a stool sample to check for disease. Is it possibly hormonal and should I consider drug therapy?

Welcome to the forum! There's a number of reasons that can cause feather plucking, many of them emotional. Has anything changed for this to just start now? You say Squeak is 18 years old - how long has he been with you? Is he flighted? What does he eat?
