Cockatiel novice

Postby Bethany_R0se » Sun Aug 11, 2013 1:15 am

Hello,

My name's Bethany and I live and work in Geelong Victoria.

I have been in love with the Cockatiel breed for as long as I can remember, however the timing was never quite right for me to get one until now.

As I have never owned a cockatiel before, I feel research and first hand advice would be a good start, which is why I joined up to this forum.
I'm currently seeking a hand raised male baby, however I'm finding it difficult to procure one in my area. Perhaps I just don't know where to look.

Any advice or information on my first Cockatiel, as well as how I would go about getting one in the Geelong region would be extremely helpful and hopefully I can keep everyone updated on when I bring a new little bird into my home.

Cheers
Beth

I don't have any info on breeders but, if I were you, I wouldn't obsess on a hand-raised bird. The parent-raised are healthier and better-adjusted and can be tamed very easily.
