Help with putting New African Grey into cage

Postby NaomijCornmell » Sat Aug 17, 2013 4:06 pm

I have just got a lovely new bird. He's 7 months old, really friendly but I struggled to get him back in his cage.
He loves food, flies over to you when ur eating and tries to drink ur tea. (TRIES)
He steps up when he feel like it but even if I can get him to step up he flies off before I get to the cage.

Can u give me some super helpful tips. I know it won't happen immediately but I don't want to get him into bad habits by not doing things properly

TIA

Naomi

bedtime snacks helped me get mya :corella: to sleep in her cage. when she first came to us she had a very bad reaction to her cage she would violently pull her feathers if the door closed. now she has a regular routine knowing every morning she's going to be let out at the same time and flies back to her cage at bedtime. make the cage a fun place never forcing your :gray: to go in but instead making a treat or feeding schedule around when you need him to go in.
