Hi There!

Postby KeithWM » Tue Aug 20, 2013 5:48 pm

Hello,

Seen as this forum has some useful info I thought I'd register and post rather than lurking in the dark.

My wife and I have recently taken over looking after a tame but feisty Eastern Rosella :swaying: from my brother and his girlfriend since they now have our nephew to look after :D. He (the bird) is called Joep --- a Dutch name, pronounced Yoop --- and he seems to have taken very easily to me, but occasionally loses his temper with my wife. According to others he's never liked women, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

Anyway, I'll be browsing the forums to learn more about how to keep him occupied and maybe reduce the frequency of his aggression.

Winged Greetings,

Keith

P.S. In the above the "losing his temper" and "aggression" might be a bit exaggerated, it amounts to biting, especially her fingers. But *I* have never had any trouble getting him to sit on my hand, even after a tantrum. First question might be whether it is wise for me to take him away from her if he's misbehaving or not?

P.P.S. I also have some pictures of him up at http://www.flickr.com/photos/keithwm/9556469683/
