How do you train your Green Cheek Conure to stop biting???

Mine is a FEMALE (only 5 months old) and I have had her for over 1 month!
I want to teach her to NOT BITE....

I want to use a method that works!!! :) :) :)
Please don't mention to put her on the floor because let's face it when you are training a baby bird - THEY DO NOT GO ON THE FLOOR SO EASILY!
Also some people say to not scream when they bite but why??? I mean if it hurts it HURTS!!!

Thank you so much! :gcc:

You can't train a parrot not to bite. Instead you can train a parrot to do everything else that is "good" instead of biting. Developing trust, patience, and a relationship are important parts of the process as well. If you want a complete solution for developing a well-behaved parrot that doesn't bite, get a copy of my book, The Parrot Wizard's Guide to Well-Behaved Parrots. For the basics of taming and training you can check out my blog articles such as these:

Well yes it hurts but if you react by screaming or saying ouch you are encouraging the behaviour. If you own a GCC or any bird for that matter you may need to develop a high pain tolerance because you're going to get bitten at some point. Another important thing to remember is its not the birds fault, it always yours as the owner. Follow michael advice its very true that birds don't respond to punishment but positive reinforcement of good behaviour.
