I'm Frederica from Germany with the two budgies Twitch (08/06) and Keisha-May (03/09).
I had another female budgie, Calsey, who died in May 09.
With Twitch & Calsey I started clicker-training in September of 2008; I've also trained Keisha-May since I've had her in June 2009.
Keisha-May lilkes to hang upside down from a branch and Twitch likes to do shake-hands with his footy, and both love to fly to my hand.
Keisha-May can carry a little willow ball in her beak and we are currently learning to that she return the ball to my hand every time; Twitch can pick up the ball and fling it around; he also comes flying on my hand to pick up the ball (as he has watched it Keisha-May do).
In return, she learned how to take medicine from a tube just from watching Twitch.
It took him three days to learn it step by step and her three days of watching to d learn it completely (come to the tube, touch the tip and eat the stuff coming out of the tip).
She even came flying to the tube; the best training results are alwaya achieved with budgies by using their jealousy!!!!
