Hey welcome to the forums!

I think you should go with the monk parrot. They aren't always one person birds, mine loves my whole family! They will be very quiet if you spend alot of time with them, and they are very very smart. My monk parrot learned - Step Up, Step Down, Kiss, Dance, Spin, and Wave - within the first 2 weeks that I had him. They are very nice and cuddly lil birds. They will love you forever and be your best buddy. They are about as smart as the African Grey!

Anyway, good luck with your parrot adventure. If I were you I'd go with the monk parrot :)

With a two year old toddler in the house, I would recommend you wait until the child will know to obey when you tell him not to put his fingers anywhere near the parrot. A toddler and a parrot is too high a risk.
