This is Corsair the day she came home with me in January. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l03tgf8j710bbi5/IMG_0084.JPG Her wings were clipped, but she could glide a few feet. The few feet got to be more, and recently she has been able to gain altitude, and land in odd places. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nvvrt9wk4adu81y/IMG_0116.JPG That's a speaker wire over a door frame. The picture is right-side-up. The bird is not.
Also recently she has started losing feathers, but I see in the forum that she in the age range for her first molt. Here, you can see fluff at the nearly bald spot on top of her head, where her yellow patch will come in if she gets one https://www.dropbox.com/s/073ve5iqn7bc5n9/IMG_0121.JPG It is covered with pin feathers now.
We are working on harness training veeeeeery slowly because I believed the instructions that came with the harness and just put it on, traumatizing my poor baby. A web search found Michael's blog, and we started over. Seven months later she will put her head through the loop to bite the target stick, but pops it right back out.
We are also working on flight recalling to my arm/hand instead of crashing into my chest.
We currently share the house with my wonderful husband, two of our three grown kids, a dog, and two cats.
