Baby African grey

Postby Shirley » Thu Oct 10, 2013 11:30 am

Hi , everyone had my baby cag Ruby just over a week.
12.5 weeks old flying for a week doing well,
But she hates her cage , climbs frantically all over
It when she inside it , throwing herself to the bottom grate
Pushing her head into the bottom bars while lying on her side
Won't play with any toys inside, but will when shes out.
She's getting out a lot ,we are trying an hour in and hour out to see if that helps
Really worried she's going to get hurt

Well, I don't know what to tell you except that it's completely unnatural (and very scary) for a baby parrot to be by itself so his/her behavior is perfectly normal and understandable.

Thank you for your reply , as you say it's very scary
I thought we were doing something wrong , she has not Finnished weaning she loves to be spoon fed at supper time and lots of snuggles , we just want to make her life loving fun and caring .
