Hi...I am new to parakeet family....very recently I brought 2 budgies.....Firstly I would like to introduce my 2 little friends. ...one is a white colored budgie named bikki and the other one is a green colored budgie named choco....but I am uncertain about the gender....can u please help me to find the gender as well as age....

When I tried to put the little ones into the brand new cage...the white bird escaped and got hurt on the cere and bleeded little..took to a vet near by and said its okay....

so please let me know whether they are cock and hen or both hens or both cocks

Looks like the yellow is male and the white female but white ones could have a skin colored cere and be male, too.

Welcome, buddies!

Here's some extra info on how to tell the age/sex of your budgies:

(I used to have a budgie, but unfortunately it would be difficult for me to tell what your lovely birds are from just looking at the photos, as I am somewhat colorblind.)

Best,

You can't tell how old they are after their eyes change and, by the time they are 6 months old, their eyes look as they will always look so the only thing you can tell is whether they are younger or older than 6 months old. But, if they have a leg band, you can always contact the breeder and ask the exact date of that particular bird - only problem is that the breeders that supply the petstores breed in huge quantities and they don't bother with leg bands so people who want to breed them usually use the date they purchase the bird as a hatchdate and simply wait until their second breeding season to give them a nest (breeding younger birds is risky for both the hen and the babies).
