I have a black cheeked conure. She is 3 years old, I've had her for one year. She was doing really good as far as not biting and getting along with our family. I am recovering from an accident and I wasn't able to spend a lot of time with her. Now she is biting and won't come near me, I would like to regain her trust. What do I do?

Welcome to the forum!

I'd post this in the training section and get more posts... but check out Michael's blog, and do a search on retraining. Use the Great Parrot Wizard's methods and you'll see positive results.

Personally, I would just hang around outside of the cage in the meanwhile... talk to the bird, wiggle your tongue at the bird (seriously -- it sounds weird but to parrots this is a loving gesture) and your bird -- being that these winged beasts thrive on our attention -- may just come around on her own.
