Hi all! New here, with a Cockatiel query.

Postby zimbo_86 » Tue Jan 21, 2014 5:25 am

Hello everyone, I'm Rob from Northampton. I have joined the forum in rather sad circumstances. I have a young male cockatiel (approx 2 years old) who I have become very attached to! Unfortunately my fiancée and I are leaving the UK. I have enquired about taking him with us but the costs are unjustifiable and I think it would be cruel of us to put him through the stress and ordeal of a 12 hour flight. Sadly I think our only reasonable option is to find him a good home. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a good home for our boy? His name is Thula, he is a good flyer, beautiful singer, he wolf whistles and he often says "whatcha doin'?"

Hello and welcome. Sorry, I don't know any UK folks who are looking for a bird, but perhaps someone else on the forum might. Are you absolutely certain you couldn't arrange to take your bird with you? Yes, it could be a stressful trip, but not nearly as stressful as being apart from his "flock"....

Best wishes,

Sorry you will loose your friend but don't feel too bad about it because this could be a blessing in disguise for him. Find him a home with somebody who already has a small flock, tiels adore been with other tiels!
