I'm sorry Wolf. I was not talking about people who cannot work for various reasons. My brother is severely mentally/emotionally disabled after all. I'm sorry for your troubles. I worked pretty hard to get where I am without help, just like you. I've had hard times and bumps in the road. The future is never certain and I get where you are coming from. But you have to admit, some people in my generation aren't trying as hard as they should to take care of themselves and would rather live off their parents and friends. A few people I know came to mind when I wrote this. (Particularly one friend who tried to stay on our couch last week around the time I wrote this, so there you go...there was my other irritation. Lol) Reality shows are all about demographics and money so I was just trying to point out that it's just a bad idea over all.

I hope it does not happen.

I understand exactly what you are speaking of and it does appear to be a generation thing. I wonder how that compares to what my grandparents thought when seeing us. Did they think the same thing?

As far as this show thing goes, I truly doubt that anyone on the production level has given it any real thought. I doubt that they realize that a parrot that is in the mental and emotional state to provide them with what they are looking for is psychotic and poses a very real danger to anyone around it. I doubt that they know that a person that would go along with this folly of theirs is also somewhat psychotic or at least I would think so to make a bird react in such a manner as well as expose this bird to others, except for the purpose of helping such a bird heal if possible.

This whole topic is ill conceived and poorly thought out at best and in my opinion is truly not worth the time to read much less to respond to. But then not only did some of us read it, we also reacted to it. Our mistake.

My irritation concerning you response is not exactly your fault although it most definitely acted as a trigger. My ire is caused by my own embarrassment, anger, resentment, and frustration that I have not been able to rise above my injuries to better support myself and my broken sense of self worth. I should not have responded to this topic at all or let my situation overflow into these forum and to you. I apologize.

Hey, I responded with resentment for our friend trying to crash on our couch! We are both ok! Lol You searved your country, I'm sorry we let you down. I don't like how we treat our vets. It's not easy for you guys.

I think it's a generation problem though. Starting with mine. We don't make our kids work for what they want. If I wanted something, I worked for it. Thanks mom and dad! :) I see so many people from my high school still living at home and we are in our mid 30's! Or friends who ask their parents to help provide for their kids...but have a house full of video games, big screen tvs...etc. So I wonder who will help their kids when their kids need money? Grandma and grandpa still?

I can understand getting help in times of great need like when starting over in life when it goes terribly wrong, but to just be a perpetual adult kid...you just got to live your life and make it your own.

Yeah I agree all of you this May just be the worst idea I have ever heard. I really hope for all the birds' sake that this is a joke. Then again any smart bird owner would never even consider this so congrats on achieving absolutely nothing except angering the members of this forum.
