Me too!

Hello ^_^

I've been using "trainedparrot.com" since I adopted my red-lored amazon (one an a half years ago) for parrot keeping tips and figured I'd join the forum to learn from more users and parrot keepers.

I've been involved with birds for four years now. I started out in a wild bird sanctuary (we took in domestics in need, too) and the rescues coming through the doors put me right off ever having a parrot! (Especially the greys!) Then my amazon came in and I fell in love instantly. It was the first time I'd ever seen one. And the first time I'd ever owned a bird.

We have learnt a lot together!

Long story short, he's a gem. Since I've had him I've bought him a bigger cage and stand, changed his diet to pellets with fresh fruit and veg (including dark, green and leafy), encouraged him to fly (he spent 19 years unable to) and just generally had an awesome time with him <3

He couldn't fly for 19 years and you have managed to have him flying?! WOW! That's wonderful and very, very, very rare! Congratulations!
